The 2023 New York Mets have the highest payroll in MLB history, but they still pretty much stink. A lot of their woes come from horrific management. Billy Eppler is the worst GM in all of professional sports, and Buck Showalter - despite managing for 200 years - has never won a World Series.
The batting order is being managed horribly. I need to shake things up. Here are the details:
Buck's general lineup vs. righties
- Brandon Nimmo
- Starling Marte
- Francisco Lindor
- Pete Alonso
- Jeff McNeil
- Daniel Vogelbach
- Brett Baty
- Luis Guillorme
- Francisco Alvarez/Tomas Nido
MY lineup vs. righties
- Nimmo
- Lindor
- Alonso
- McNeil
- Baty
- Marte
- Alvarez
- Vogelbach
- Guillorme
Buck's lineup vs. lefties
- Nimmo
- Marte
- Lindor
- Alonso
- Pham
- McNeil
- Canha
- Baty
- Nido
MY lineup vs. lefties
- Nimmo
- McNeil
- Lindor
- Alonso
- Baty
- Marte
- Alvarez
- Canha
- Pham
In my versions of the lineups, the youth - Brett Baty and Francisco Alvarez - is being promoted and nurtured. Eppler and Showalter do NOT know how to give confidence to young ballplayers.
