Once a year, I like to take a couple days to take stock of the overall state of starting pitching in MLB. Trust me - NOT an easy task, at all. Here's some of the stuff I'm looking at: 

1. This season gets the most weight, but not ALL the weight 

2. Looking at innings pitched 

3. Health

4. I like WHIP better than ERA 

5. Pure stuff 

6. General reputation 

7. Durability/dependability/reliability 

8. Were they a highly-touted prospect?
